Espanyol swoop for Domi

Espanyol have completed the signing of French full back Didier Domi on a two-year deal.

There is an option to extend the contract for a third season if Domi plays more than 25 games over the next two terms.

The 26-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Leeds, arrives from Paris Saint Germain and becomes Espanyol's third signing of the summer.

The Catalan outfit have already landed Zaragoza striker Dani and taken Real Betis midfielder Ito on a season-long loan.

No details of a fee have been released, but it is thought the player has completed a free transfer move.

Espanyol director of football Cristobal Parralo knows Domi from his time at PSG and believes the defender will prove a big hit in Spain.

"I know him well from when we were at PSG and I know he can bring many things," Parralo stated.

Domi's arrival puts the future of Pierre Wome in doubt as the Cameroon left back has failed to establish himself since arriving at Estadio Olimpico last summer.

Meanwhile, Espanyol are reported to be lining up a goalkeeper to complete their summer transfer activities and, after snubs from Ulrich Rame and Lionel Letizi, Le Havre custodian Carlos Kameni is their top priority.
