Paris St Germain comfortably beat Ligue 1 newboys Gazélec Ajaccio at the Parc De Princes in front of new £45m signing Angel Di Maria.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward was unveiled to PSG fans before their side ran out 2-0 winners in their first home match of the campaign.

With striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic still out nursing a knee injury it was left to Blaise Matuidi and captain Thiago Silva to put the match out of the reach of Ajaccio.

French international Matuidi scored after 11 minutes when he blasted a left foot strike into the top corner and Silva made it two 10 minutes later when he converted a Thiago Motta cross by heading home.

The win puts PSG on six points alongside Reims and Caen.

But Reims right back Hamari Traoré made sure Passi would suffer the same result as his predecessor when he scored after 14 minutes.

Marseille finished with 10 men after Alaixys Romao was sent off in the 73rd minute for a second yellow card.

Elsewhere, Benjamin Moukandjo's grabbed a last-gasp equaliser from the penalty spot as Lorient drew 1-1 with Bastia.

The visitors made a quick start at Stade Yves Allainmat, taking a fourth-minute lead when Gael Danic headed the ball into the path of Floyd Ayite who fired high into the net.

Les Merlus should have been level in the 59th minute but Majeed Waris sent a free header from six yards over when he should really have scored.

But the hosts did equalise after Sebastien Squillaci brought down Denis Bouanga just inside the box and Moukandjo sent Thomas Vincensini the wrong way from the spot.
