Veteran keeper hoping for one more game before he calls it a day
Lionel Letizi hopes he will get the opportunity to make one more appearance for Nice before retiring.
The 37-year-old goalkeeper has already announced that the 2010/11 campaign will be his last, as he prepares to hang up his gloves in the summer.
The veteran shot-stopper had been hoping to bow out in style, with an appearance in the Coupe de France final.
However, Lille dashed Nice's dreams at the semi-final stage and Letizi now finds himself filling back-up duties once more.
There is still a chance, though, that he could be offered one final outing before the season comes to a close, allowing him to bid farewell to the club's supporters.
Pleasure
Letizi told
L'Equipe: "It was hugely disappointing to lose the semi-final, but we played a good team in Lille and they scored at important times.
"Of course I would have preferred to bow out at Stade de France, but Nice's run through the cup has been a lot of fun and I have enjoyed playing in it.
"It is time for me to turn over a new leaf, but I hope I can play once more in Le Championnat.
"If the team can secure survival as quickly as possible, and if I am called upon, I will wear the gloves again with a lot of pleasure.
"I want to thank my team-mates and the fans of Stade du Ray for the ovation they gave me after the Lille game. I was really moved."
