MIONNET SET FOR SURGERY

A tackle by Nicolas Gillet caught the knee of Mionnet, rupturing his knee ligaments.

TV cameras caught the dreadful injury, and Mionnet is understandably upset at being ruled out for the rest of the season.

He is out of contract with Sedan at the end of the season and was looking to impress potential buyers in the last few months of the campaign.

"I expected a lot of the end of the season," said Mionnet. "I wanted to prove something to interest clubs because I have had no contact, now I've had it, it's terrible.

"I've never had a serious injury until now.  I will only be handicapped for a few months so I will not moan too much.

"After what I suffered, I will come back as good as new and stronger for it."

Gillet, who was not to blame for the incident, was upset about Mionnet's injury and apologised after the game.

"The TV pictures are dreadful, I am very upset tonight," said Gillet. "What Cedric said has helped me but I would like to play the match again and remove the incident."

"I have never hurt anyone before this, but once is one time too many."
