PSG draw keeps Nice on top

NICE maintain their surprise lead at the top of Le Championnat after earning a very creditable 1-1 draw away to title favourites Paris Saint Germain.

Everson stunned the Parc des Princes when he opened the scoring for the visitors just after the hour mark, although Martin Cardetti's 74th minute effort saved a point for Victor Fernandez's men to keep them within a point of the early leaders.

Lens move into third place, level on points with Nice, after their 1-0 win over Monaco at Felix-Bollaert thanks to a goal from Senegal star Papa Bouba Diop seven minutes before the interval that keeps their unbeaten run going.

Defending champions Lyon suffered their first defeat of the campaign and missed the chance to go top as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Sochaux thanks to goals from Sylvain Monsoreau and Mickael Pagis, with Nisa Saveljic scoring a late own goal to put Lyon on the scoresheet.

Bottom side Sedan grabbed their first win of the season to lift themselves off the foot of the table as Stephane Noro's 27th minute goal was enough to earn a 1-0 win over Nantes.

Rennes slip to the foot of the table as they lost an eventful match 3-1 at Bastia. The Corsican side took the lead through Jocelyn Gouvennec before Frederic Piquionne drew the sides level.

Hassan Ahamada gave the hosts the lead after 20 minutes but was then sent off three minutes before the break for his second yellow card, and the ten men then went further ahead when Florian Maurice sealed the game after 70 minutes.

Lille still remain without a win after playing out a 2-2 draw at Strasbourg, who took the lead through Ulirch Le Pen's effort before Mathieu Delpierre drew the sides level after 50 minutes.

Corentin Martins put Strasbourg back in front a minute later but Lille grabbed a point through Hector Tapia's effort six minutes before time.

Troyes also got their first win of the campaign as Mamadou Niang gave them a 1-0 win at home to newcomers Ajaccio.

Guingamp's clash with Bordeuax ended in a goalless draw, as did the game between Montpellier and Le Havre.
