The La Liga Segunda match between Huesca and Albacete has been postponed following an accident involving Albacete midfielder Pelayo Novo at the team's hotel.

Reports in the Spanish media suggest the 27-year-old fell from a third floor window at the Hotel abba Huesca in the city in north east Spain.

He has been taken to hospital in Zaragoza where the club say he is in a stable condition.

Albacete have issued a statement which said: "Our player, Pelayo Novo, suffered a spectacular accident in the morning at the team's hotel.

"Our player, who is stable, has been transferred to the Hospital of Zaragoza. At all times, he is being accompanied by the club's medical staff.

"The Albacete Balompié in turn wants to thank SD Huesca for their closeness, interest and willingness to help, as well as the League, other clubs, institutions and other sports organisations that have been interested in the state of our footballer."

La Liga have also issued a statement: "The match between Huesca and Albacete scheduled for this Saturday at 8pm is postponed due to the incident that occurred this morning with Albacete player, Pelayo Novo.

"La Liga wants to show all their support and wish a speedy recovery to Pelayo Novo. Lots of strength."
