Former Tenerife coach replaces Juan Manuel Lillo
Primera Division strugglers Almeria have appointed Jose Luis Oltra as their new coach.
The 41-year-old finally agreed to take over the side, who are currently sitting second from bottom in the league, after lengthy negotiations.
The former Tenerife coach replaces Juan Manuel Lillo, who was sacked immediately after Saturday's humiliating 8-0 home defeat at the hands of Barcelona that matched the worst defeat in the Spanish league for 51 years.
Oltra has agreed a deal to coach Almeria, who have claimed just one win and nine points from their opening 12 games, until the end of the season.
Argentinean coach Nestor Gorosito had also reportedly been in discussions with the Andalusian side before the position was offered to Oltra.
Almeria are away to fifth-placed Valencia, Oltra's home-town club, on Sunday.
