Tito Vilanova has been formally confirmed as Pep Guardiola's successor as Barcelona coach, agreeing a two-year deal with the Catalan club. Vilanova had already been announced as the man to take over from Guardiola, having been the assistant manager throughout Barca's period of European dominance that yielded 14 trophies. But the 42-year-old will officially sign the deal on Friday. "FC Barcelona have come to an agreement with Francesc 'Tito' Vilanova," read a statement on the club's official website. "This season's first-team assistant manager will be the head coach of FC Barcelona for two seasons, through June 30th 2014. Vilanova will sign his new contract this Friday on June 15th."
