Real Betis have appointed Julio Velazquez as their new head coach.
The 32-year-old replaces Gabriel Calderon, who left the club following their relegation from the Primera Division at the end of last season.
Velazquez, who joins from Segunda Division side Real Murcia, takes charge of the Estadio Benito Villamarin outfit from July 1.
A statement on the Real Betis website said: "Julio Velazquez Santiago will be the coach of Real Betis from July 1. This young but experienced technician takes the reins after a remarkable season with Real Murcia, who qualified for the play-off for promotion despite many adversities before the start of the season."
Velazquez said: "(Joining Betis) is an exciting challenge and I am convinced that, although the road will be long and hard, we can return Betis to its rightful place."
