Philippe Coutinho takes a tumble on his full Barcelona debut in La Liga

Philippe Coutinho took a heavy fall on his league debut for Barcelona as he got used to his new surroundings at the Nou Camp.

Coutinho made first Barcelona start since his move from Liverpool against Alaves at the Nou Camp on Sunday, as Lionel Messi's late free-kick handed the hosts a 2-1 win.

The Brazil international lasted 66 minutes having put in a steady performance, replaced by Paco Alcacer with Barcelona trailing 1-0, though he did lose his footing off the pitch before taking in a nasty tumble in front of his new supporters.

Coutinho made his debut on Thursday when he played the final 22 minutes in Barca's 2-0 win over local rivals Espanyol, which saw Barca overcome a one-goal first-leg deficit to reach the Copa del Rey semi-finals.

The 25-year-old became the second most expensive footballer in history, behind Paris Saint-Germain attacker and compatriot Neymar, when he moved to Catalonia earlier in the month.
