Diego Milito apologises for outburst and pledges his future to Inter
Diego Milito has apologised for his recent outburst and insists he wants to remain at Inter Milan.
Milito was the spearhead of the Inter attack under Jose Mourinho as they swept domestic and European titles.
He had asked for an improved contract after their Champions League triumph and admits the timing of his request was wrong.
Happy
"I'm fine at Inter and I'm very happy,"
he told Inter TV.
"I was wrong to ask for a better contract when I did but I was sincere, even if the timing of it was wrong.
"But I would like to clarify one point, I never asked to leave. I was and still am happy at Inter.
"I want to stay here because it's a great club which has given me a lot."
Milito is fortunate enough to play with the current World Player of the Year, Lionel Messi at international level for Argentina.
And there has been talk of the two being reunited at club level for Inter, something Milito admits he would be happy to see.
Messi
"Messi to Inter?" he added. "That would be great but because of the amount of money needed to complete a deal like that, it would be very difficult for it to happen.
"Leo has been excellent for Barcelona and he is an idol there, but I know that he also loves Italy.
"It would be my dream to play with him here at Inter and may be one day it will be realized."
