Barcelona reserve goalkeeper Jose Manuel Pinto has been banned for the next two UEFA Champions League games for 'gross unsporting conduct'.
UEFA have suspended the 34-year-old shot-stopper after he 'whistled to stop a promising attack from striker Cesar Santin' during the Group D clash with FC Copenhagen.
The Brazilian forward was through on goal in the 2-0 defeat at the Camp Nou but gave up chasing the ball believing he was offside.
In video replays it is possible to see Pinto waving his arm to indicate a flag from the linesman, and Santin later accused him of imitating the referee's whistle.
The disciplinary committee of European football's governing body made the decision on Friday, meaning he will be unavailable for the return fixture against Copenhagen and the clash with Panathinaikos.
The ban is likely to matter little to the Spanish champions as No.1 Victor Valdes should be available after a fever ruled him out of the Copenhagen home tie.
Barcelona are set to appeal and have three days to officially state their case.
