Defender to arrive on free transfer from St Etienne

Sevilla have announced that Mouhamadou Dabo is to join the club on a free transfer from St Etienne. The full-back was out-of-contract with St Etienne this summer and Sevilla have been keeping tabs on his progress for some time. The Spanish club have now confirmed on their official website that a deal has been agreed for Dabo to come in on a four-year contract. He will undergo a medical on Monday before putting pen to paper on a lucrative package that includes a 25million euro (£21.7m) buy-out clause.

Versatile

Sevilla sporting director Ramon Rodriguez 'Monchi' said of the 23-year-old: "He's a player we've been following for much of the season. We think he can contribute a lot at right-back and even on the left. "In fact this season he has played more on the left than on the right, because he's versatile. "It was a good opportunity that had opened up in the market, because the player was free and has, despite his youth, more than 100 games under his belt in the French league. "He is good physically and technically."
