Sevilla winger poised to join Portuguese outfit on five-year deal

Sevilla have agreed to let forward Diego Capel join Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon. Capel burst into Sevilla's first team during the 2007/08 season but the Spain Under-21 international slipped behind Jesus Navas and Diego Perotti in the pecking order last season. Sporting launched a summer move for the 23-year-old winger and he is now set to sign a five-year contract with the club, with Sevilla receiving a fee of €3.5 million. "Capel was an important football player for Sevilla but a deal has been reached," said coach Marcelino Garcia Toral.

Dos Santos interest

Capel's exit could now pave the way for the Sevilla boss to make an approach for Tottenham's Giovani Dos Santos. The Mexico international has also attracted interest from Valencia and Udinese but Sevilla are keen to steal a march on their transfer rivals. Although the 22-year-old has failed to establish himself at Tottenham since joining them from Barcelona in 2008, he impressed on loan at Racing Santander last term.
