Real Madrid and Wales forward Gareth Bale has suffered another injury setback that could see him sidelined for a further month.

Having been ruled out with a calf injury since late September, Bale has now suffered a thigh injury in training with Real Madrid.

The La Liga club said in a statement on Friday: "Our player Gareth Bale, who felt some discomfort in his left leg at the end of Thursday's training session, today underwent various tests carried out by the Real Madrid Sanitas medical team.

"He has been diagnosed with a strain to the middle third of the adductor longus muscle in his left leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed."

The recovery period for such an injury is likely to be two to six weeks, which means Bale is almost certainly out of the derby clash against Atletico Madrid on November 18.

Despite his return to training in recent days, Bale did not link up with Wales for their international friendly matches against France and Panama on the request of Real head coach Zinedine Zidane.
