AGENT CONFIRMS REAL RUI COSTA INTEREST

The Portuguese international was one of the best players in Serie A last season but has been linked with a move away from Stadio Artemio Franchi because of the lack of success in Florence.

However, it now appears that Spanish giants Real have entered the chase to sign the brilliant midfielder, as they continue their assiduous pursuit of Juventus star Zinedine Zidane.

"Real are looking at Zinedine Zidane," confirmed agent Pallavicino. "But they are also chasing my player Rui Costa."

The Spanish side would certainly not be able to sign the 29-year-old uncontested, with mounting interest from at least two top Italian sides.

Rui Costa has already had talks with Lazio director of sport Nello Governato, who has confirmed that they would love to bring the midfielder to Rome - and the player has indicated in the past that he would like to play for the Biancoceleste.

Fiorentina are also believed to be in talks with Milan, after ex-coach Fatih Terim identified Rui Costa as his big summer signing.
