Real rebuff Luque link
Real Madrid have moved to deny reports that they are interested in Albert Luque.
Real Madrid have moved to deny reports that they are interested in taking Deportivo La Coruna star Albert Luque to El Santiago Bernabeu.Los Merengues were claimed to have contacted Depor to find out about the 27-year-old's availability, but director of football Arrigo Sacchi has refuted the suggestion.
Sacchi admits the club are looking for a left-sided midfielder following the sale of Santiago Solari to Internazionale, but insists Luque is not the man to fill the void.
"The team still needs something for where you all know where," the Italian stated, referring to the left side of midfield.
"Luque is a good player, but he does not interest us."
Sacchi's words are in stark contrast to the player's agent, Martin Petron, who had earlier claimed that the two sides were in contact.
"Albert Luque is very happy at Deportivo La Coruna, although Real Madrid and Deportivo are discretely speaking," he had said.
"If they keep on negotiating and there is an agreement, then the player is not going to complain."
