Real Madrid right back Cicinho has been ruled out of action for at least six months with a knee injury.The 26-year-old defender lasted just 29 minutes of Real's 1-0 win at Real Betis on Saturday, which saw them return to the top of the league.
The Brazilian international turned awkwardly when challenging for the ball, and has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
He will need surgery to repair the damage and is expected to miss the majority of the season as a result.
It is a blow for Real ahead of the UEFA Champions League Group E encounter with Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday, having already lost their opening match of the competition 2-0 to Lyon.
