Danilo has completed his £23m move to join Real Madrid from Porto.
The Spanish giants announced the deal in April but the Brazil full-back has now completed and passed his medical before signing a six-year deal.
He missed the Copa America due to injury but will be on the plane when Madrid travel to Australia on July 12, to play in the International Champions Cup.
Danilo said: "Today, a dream comes true, which is signing for Real Madrid. It is without doubt one of the happiest days of my life.
"I am going to give it my all on the pitch in each and every game. I know no other way of competing, and so - let's go, Real!"
Former Liverpool manager Benitez's first game in charge is against Roma at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on July 18 with the clash against Manchester City scheduled at the MCG a week later.
Danilo became the most expensive defender to sign for the club.
"I am honoured and I feel truly valued by the club," he said. "I know the financial effort the club has done to sign me. "I hope to repay it on the pitch.
"The most important thing for me is to adapt to the club, to the team and to the city as soon as possible. This will help me play better."
Danilo, 23, will be competing with Alvaro Arbeloa and Dani Carvajal for a start at right-back.
"They are both very good players," he said. "But this is only good for the club to have three quality right-backs.
"Real have the best players in every position and it proves this club wants to win."
Real are hoping to bounce back from a trophy-less campaign that led to the sacking of coach Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season.
Los Blancos appointed Benitez as Ancelotti's replacement last month.
Real president Florentino Perez is confident the arrival of Danilo, who was a reported target of Barcelona in recent months, will only make his team stronger.
"We always work towards finding excellence," Perez said. "Only a few have the privilege to defend this jersey. We want the best players in this club."
"Danilo is a magnificent player that has already made his mark. There were many important clubs in Europe
