Juventus have confirmed they remain hopeful of signing Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero.
The Italian side are determined to lure Aguero to Turin despite knowing they could face competition from top clubs across Europe.
Aguero, who has confirmed his wish to leave the Spanish outfit, has a €45million buy-out clause and is also a target of Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Juve are also keeping an eye on the situation of Roma striker Mirko Vucinic.
And, although
Aguero's agent denied last week there had been talks with Juve, they claim the 23-year-old frontman is still their main transfer target.
"Aguero is a great player and when I speak of enhancing the quality level of Juventus I am referring also to the Argentinian player," the club's general manager, Giuseppe Marotta, told
Corriere dello Sport.
"We like Vucinic too. He has great qualities but he's currently Roma's player."
Aguero has said that no decision will be made about his future until after the Copa America, which is hosted in his homeland from July 1-24.
Swiss right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner is set to complete his move from Lazio, however.
"Yes, we are very close, but we still need to take care," Marotta added.
"The difference is small and there is always a great relationship with (Lazio owner Claudio) Lotito. Calmly and carefully, we can get everything done."
