Racing Santander have reappointed their former coach Marcelino Garcia to replace the sacked Miguel Angel Portugal.
The Primera Liga outfit terminated Portugal's contract on Monday and Marcelino has agreed a deal until the end of next season.
Marcelino, who guided the team to a sixth-placed finish in 2008, will take charge of first-team training on Wednesday morning.
"Racing and Marcelino Garcia Toral have reached an agreement for the coach to come back to manage the team," read a statement on the club's
official site.
"Marcelino will begin to work with the squad this morning and help prepare the team for Saturday's match against Sevilla."
The Cantabria-based side are 16th in the standings, one point above the relegation places, and have drawn both their games since Indian investor Ahsan Ali Syed became majority shareholder.
