Midfielder Cani has penned a three-year contract extension at Villarreal, the Spanish club has announced. The 29-year-old, whose existing deal was due to expire in the summer, has committed his future to the Yellow Submarine until June 2014. Spaniard Cani arrived at Villarreal from home-town club Real Zaragoza in the summer of 2006. The midfielder has played in all but two of the club's 21 Primera Liga games this season, helping them to third in the table.
