Paulo Dybala stepped off the bench to score the only goal as Juventus won 1-0 at Bologna to maintain their stranglehold on Serie A.
Juve bounced back from their midweek defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League by securing their 22nd win from 25 league games this season.
Massimiliano Allegri's side extended their unbeaten league run this season to 25 matches but had to wait until the 67th minute to break the deadlock when substitute Dybala fired home into the bottom corner from inside the penalty area.
Juve hold a 13-point advantage over closest challengers Napoli, while Bologna, who have won only once this year, remain third from bottom, three points adrift of safety.
Napoli stretched their unbeaten run in Serie A to seven games by following up their midweek Europa League win over FC Zurich by trouncing Parma 4-0 on the road.
Arkadiusz Milik scored in either half and his double was sandwiched by Piotr Zielinski's opener and Napoli's fourth, scored by Adam Ounas in the 82nd minute.
Parma's slide continued as they have lost four and drawn one of their last five matches.
In Sunday's evening kick-off, Jordan Veretout converted a penalty in the 11th minute of time added on to clinch Fiorentina a 3-3 home draw against Inter Milan.
Veretout converted from the spot after Danilo D'Ambrosio's handball had been referred to the video assistant referee.
It was the second handball incident in the match to be judged by VAR.
Inter had led 3-1 early in the second half. Matias Vecino cancelled out Stefan de Vrij's own goal before Matteo Politano and Ivan Perisic's penalty put the visitors in control.
Perisic converted after Edimilson Fernandes' handball had also been referred to VAR, but Luis Muriel's free-kick reduced the deficit and Veretout's last-gasp penalty secured Fiorentina a point.
Sampdoria snapped a run of three straight league defeats with a 1-0 home win against Cagliari, courtesy of Fabio Quagliarella's second-half penalty after Luca Pellegrini's foul on Manolo Gabbiadini.
Andrea Petagna's penalty rescued SPAL a valuable point in a 1-1 draw at Sassuolo, who had taken the lead just before half-time through Federico Peluso.
Petagna converted his spot-kick midway through the second half after Francesco Magnanelli's challenge on Sergio Floccari had been referred to the video assistant referee.
Sassuolo midfielder Alfred Duncan was sent off in stoppage time for his second booking.
Bottom club Chievo held Genoa to a goalless home draw, but the point will do little for their survival chances as they are 11 points from safety.
