Milan back striker to make return

Injured Milan star Ronaldo has flown to Paris to undergo surgery on his injured knee. Ronaldo was stretchered off in tears after rupturing his knee tendon just three minutes after coming on as substitute against Livorno. The Brazilian is expected to be sidelined for up to nine months with this latest knee injury and there have been fears over Ronaldo's career. However, Milan are confident that Ronaldo will recover to full fitness and have vowed to support the former Real Madrid star on his road to recovery. Milan's general manager Adriano Galliani revealed he has reassured Ronaldo that everyone at the club is behind him

Crying

"When he was crying I embraced him," said Galliani. "I told him we will be close to him. "Milan have already showed in the past to not forsake the players who suffer bad injuries and the same thing will happen for Ronaldo." Rossoneri President Silvio Berlusconi is also determined to help Ronaldo return to full fitness. "I spoke to him on the telephone last night and I told him to believe in himself as he has such a great physical capability," Berlucsconi told Unomattina. "At 31-years-old he is still young and I think that he can return in a number of months to being the champion of old. Everyone in the sporting community hopes that is the case."
