Jose Mourinho has warned Mario Balotelli to forget any hopes he has of leaving Inter Milan on loan.

Young striker will not be allowed to leave Inter

Jose Mourinho has warned Mario Balotelli to forget any hopes he has of leaving Inter Milan on loan during the transfer window. The young striker and his brother, who acts as his agent, have been vocal over their hopes of securing a temporary move away from the San Siro for the remainder of the season in the search for regular first-team football. Former Chelsea boss Mourinho insists that the 18-year-old is not going anywhere and left him out of his squad for the draw with Cagliari on Saturday and Tuesday's Italian Cup date with Genoa. The Portuguese boss admitted he will not select Balotelli again until he is convinced that the teenager is only focused on Inter.

Lack of joy

"Nothing has changed since the last time I called up a squad," Mourinho told a news conference on Monday. "His way of working is the same, his joy, or lack of joy, is the same, his attitude is the same. "The only thing that has changed is that his brother has made it clear that Mario is thinking about being loaned out. "We'll wait until the closure of the transfer market at the end of January, when he realises he's staying here. At that point there'll be no alternative to concentrating on his work with Inter. "Maybe then his attitude will change, maybe he will return to the squad, but at the moment he does not seem to be in the condition to play."

Meanwhile, Inter president Massimo Moratti has echoed the views of his manager and claims to have informed the teenager of his reluctance to send him out on loan. "Balotelli will remain here," he said. "I found him ready to listen and we showed him our desire to keep him and not to let him out on loan for the next six months. "It was a positive discussion and I hope he is now happy."
