Roma captain Francesco Totti has agreed a five-year contract extension at the Stadio Olimpico.
The new deal ties 33-year-old forward to the Serie A club until 2014 and that means he is set to end his playing career with his hometown club.
Under the terms of his new agreement Totti will also move into a role as a member of Roma's technical staff after he retires.
The Italian is understandably pleased to have settled his future and is now looking forward to the future.
Totti said in
La Gazzetta dello Sport: "I always dreamed of wearing this shirt for life. It is a dream come true."
A statement from the club read: "AS Roma and captain Francesco Totti announce they have reached an agreement to extend the contract, currently ending in June 2010, until June 2014.
"The player will receive €8.6m per season."
