Released striker to stay in Serie A
Goran Pandev has admitted his delight after being released from his Lazio contract and has confirmed he is likely to remain in Italy.
The Italian League agreed to annul his contract on Wednesday, despite Lazio's protests,
The Macedonian striker is now free to move to a new club in January and is pleased to have the opportunity.
"I'm happy. For me it's the end of a nightmare," said Pandev. "I hope a similar thing will never happen.
"I remain a Lazio supporter and I'm sorry for their supporters, even if I'm happy to leave.
"I've been disappointed by my team-mates and also coach Davide Ballardini has been incorrect with me."
Half-a-dozen Premier League clubs have already been linked with a move for the 26-year-old but he admits that he is set to remain in Serie A, with champions Inter Milan favourites to sign him.
"My future? I'd like to stay here in Italy," he added.
