Livorno have told Juventus they would want a player in exchange for Antonio Candreva.
Juve could land target in return for Giovinco or De Ceglie
Livorno have offered Juventus hope in their pursuit of Antonio Candreva but insist they would want a player in exchange.
Candreva has attracted interest from several Italian clubs but Livorno have warned that it will be difficult to prise him away.
Juventus admitted earlier this week they were pessimistic about their chances of landing the 22-year-old midfielder, who has already made his senior international debut for Italy.
Livorno president Luciano Spinelli has spoken to the player and knows he would be interested in a switch to Juve.
And Spinelli would be prepared to do business if a swap deal could be agreed with either Sebastian Giovinco or Paolo De Ceglie moving in the opposite direction.
"Candreva at Juve? We can allow him to leave only with a technical counterpart," Spinelli told
Sky Italia.
"We are talking with him and with his agent too, but there is also a big interest from Genoa.
"For his transfer to Juve I've asked for a player in exchange because I can't deprive myself of such an important player without having something.
"Should they give me Giovinco or De Ceglie or someone else who can be useful to my coach, I can also help the player who wants to go to a big side."
Difficult deal
The transfer saga is further complicated by the fact that Candreva is actually on loan at Livorno from Udinese.
The player's agent Federico Pastorello is nevertheless confident that a deal can be agreed which suits all parties and ultimately takes Candreva to Juventus.
"With a little good sense, negotiations can be successful. I don't do percentages, but I'm optimistic," said Pastorello.
"Juventus began to show interest a few weeks ago and in recent days there has been some progress.
"The deal is difficult because it involves three clubs. The formula we're talking about is a loan with the option to buy for Juventus."
