Brazilian coach leaves San Siro after poor season
Coach Leonardo has left AC Milan by mutual consent after a disappointing campaign at the San Siro.
In his first season in management, the former Milan technical director suffered a miserable campaign by the club's lofty standards.
The Rossoneri currently sit third in Serie A, 12 points behind city rivals Inter, with just one match to play.
The pressure has been building on Leonardo after a disastrous UEFA Champions League campaign which saw Milan routed 7-2 on aggregate by Manchester United at the round of 16 stage.
He said at a press conference: "We are here to announce that we are parting ways through mutual consent, in a calm and serene manner, just as it has always been in our relationship throughout the years.
"There's nothing surprising. Everything is very clear, as always.
"We have arrived at the end.
"The Champions League aim, which I desired so much, has been achieved and we have decided to make it official.
"The time to end this adventure has come."
