Fiorentina upset at lack of communication regarding Prandelli

Fiorentina have hit out after not being officially informed of Cesare Prandelli's appointment to the Italy post. The Italian football federation (FIGC) announced on Sunday that the Fiorentina coach will succeed Marcello Lippi after the World Cup on a four-deal deal. The announcement of Prandelli's new role came after the coach, who had been at the Fiorentina helm since 2005, met with the Italian federation president Giancarlo Abete in Rome on Sunday. The meeting was arranged after Abete was given permission by the Serie A club earlier this month to talk to Prandelli, but Fiorentina are upset that they have not officially been informed of the decision. "Up to today, the club has still not been informed by anybody," Fiorentina said in a statement on Monday. "We heard about it only from the federation website and media reports. We believe this behaviour shows a serious lack of respect to the club and our fans." In preparation for Prandelli's impending departure, Fiorentina contacted former Catania coach Sinisa Mihajlovic last week about a possible coaching role at the club.
