Celtic and Schalke clinch silverware in Scotland and Germany

Lille were crowned champions in France but it was despair for Deportivo in Spain as they were relegated. Celtic clinched the Scottish Cup with victory over Motherwell and Schalke sealed the German Cup with an emphatic win over Duisburg. In Italy, Udinese finished fourth and qualify for next year's UEFA Champions League while the Dutch play-offs are now in full swing.

Ligue 1

Lille secured their third Ligue 1 title in their history despite letting a lead slip twice at Paris St Germain, drawing 2-2. They got the point they needed though and the draw sparked wild celebrations, as nearest rivals Marseille could only muster a 2-2 stalemate at home to Valenciennes. At the other end of the table, seven-time champions Monaco will go into the final day of the season in the relegation zone, despite a 1-0 win at Montpellier.

La Liga

Deportivo La Coruna suffered relegation from the Spanish top-flight as they went down 2-0 at home to Valencia, while rivals Real Zaragoza climbed out of trouble with a 2-1 success at Levante. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo signed off the season in style by entering the record books by scoring his 39th and 40th league goals of the campaign in the 8-1 rout over Almeria. Champions Barcelona warmed up for next weekend's Champions League final with Manchester United as they strolled to a 3-1 victory over Malaga.

Serie A

Udinese qualified for the Champions League for only the second time in their history as they fought out a 0-0 home draw against champions AC Milan. Lazio beat Lecce 4-2 away but miss out on fourth due to the head-to-head rule, while Roma end the campaign in the Europa League following a 3-1 success at already-relegated Sampdoria. Elsewhere, Inter Milan signed off with a convincing 3-1 victory over Catania while Juventus and Napoli played out a 2-2 draw.

German Cup

Matters in the Bundesliga are complete, despite a relegation play-off still to be decided, but Schalke locked horns with second division side Duisburg in the German Cup final. The Champions League semi-finalists earned a comfortable 5-0 win to end what has been a thrilling campaign for them. Dutchman Klaas-Jan Huntelaar struck twice as Schalke took up their last chance of a European place after a rollercoaster season.

Eredivisie play-offs

In Holland, ADO Den Haag and FC Groningen will meet in a two-legged encounter for a place in next season's Europa League after coming through their respective semi-finals. Groningen edged past Hercales Almelo on away goals after Petter Andersson and Oluwafemi Ajilore scored in the second leg to secure a 2-1 victory and 4-4 aggregate draw. ADO overcame Roda JC Kerkrade 6-3 on aggregate following a 2-1 win away from home on Sunday. Mouten Skoubo's early goal gave Roda hope of overturning their deficit, but Mitchell Pique and Wesley Verhoek struck to secure ADO's success.

Scottish Cup

Celtic recorded a 3-0 win over Motherwell in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park to earn Neil Lennon his first trophy as Hoops manager. Ki Sung-yong opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a wonderful drive and Mark Wilson's shot in the 75th minute, which deflected off Well skipper Stephen Craigan, put the Parkhead men into an unassailable lead. Charlie Mulgrew's wonderful free-kick with two minutes remaining brought an even more positive end to Lennon's first season as permanent boss.
