Real Madrid extended their lead in Spain while Udinese moved top in Italy and Bayern won again.

Real and Bayern march on, Udinese lead Serie A

Real Madrid have extended their lead in Spain while Udinese capitalised on Juventus' misfortune to move to the top in Italy. Bayern maintained their five-point advantage in Germany's top flight while big-spending PSG could only draw with Bordeaux in Ligue 1. AZ Alkmaar maintained their fine form in the Eredivisie as SPL leaders Rangers dispatched Dundee United at Ibrox.

Primera Liga

Real Madrid have extended their lead at the top of the table after thrashing Osasuna on home soil while Barcelona salvaged a last-gasp draw away to Athletic Bilbao. Cristiano Ronaldo maintained his blistering scoring streak in front of goal as Jose Mourinho's side ran out comfortable 7-1 winners while Lionel Messi rescued a point in injury time for the champions at a rain-soaked San Mames. On Saturday, Valencia leapfrogged Levante into third place in the table following a 2-0 victory, while the games at Real Mallorca and Real Betis ended goalless.

Serie A

Udinese moved to the summit of the Serie A table on Sunday following a 2-1 victory over Siena with fans' favourite Antonio Di Natale netting the winner in the 64th minute. Lazio's 1-0 success over Parma kept them in second place while AC Milan thrashed Catania 4-0 on home soil. Former leaders Juventus were displaced at the top of the table as their match at Napoli on Sunday was postponed due to flash flooding. On Saturday inconsistent Palermo moved into fifth with a 3-1 victory over Bologna while Roma saw off lowly Novara.

Bundesliga

In Germany, Bayern Munich maintained their five-point lead at the top of the table with a 2-1 win over Augsburg thanks to goals from Mario Gomez and Franck Ribery. Schalke missed the chance to go second after being held to a 2-2 draw at Hannover. Teemu Pukki helped himself to a brace but it was not enough for the three points. 24 hours earlier Werder Bremen dispatched Cologne 3-2 on home soil thanks to a Claudio Pizarro hat-trick while Borussia Monchengladbach stayed level with Werder after winning 2-1 at Hertha Berlin.

Ligue 1

Leaders Paris St Germain failed to extend their lead at the top of the table after being held to a 1-1 draw at Bordeaux. Also on Sunday Montpellier were held by St Etienne while Lyon squandered the chance to close on the leading pack after slipping to a 2-1 defeat away to Sochaux. Lille were left frustrated at home by Evian following a 1-1 draw as the visitors used an early goal to put the defending Ligue 1 champions on the back foot at the Stadium Lille Metropole.

Eredivisie

Leaders AZ Alkmaar made it three consecutive league victories after beating ADO Den Haag 3-0 on Sunday. There was also a ten-goal thriller as Utrecht stunned Ajax 6-4, that means the Dutch giants have conceded 20 goals from their 12 league outings to date. On Friday rock-bottom Excelsior picked up just their sixth point of the campaign after securing a goalless away draw to VVV-Venlo.

SPL

Hibernian are on the lookout for a new manager after sacking Colin Calderwood in the wake of Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Dunfermline. Leaders Rangers made it three wins on the bounce following a 3-1 home success over Dundee United thanks to Nikica Jelavic's double while Celtic leapfrogged Motherwell in the table after winning 2-1 at Fir Park. The pressure was firmly on manager Neil Lennon to deliver and The Bhoys claimed all three points thanks to substitute Gary Hooper's close-range effort.

In Belgium Gent have closed the gap on leaders Anderlecht after dispatching KV Mechelen 6-2 on Friday. Anderlecht lost 1-0 to Cercle Bruges on Sunday. Panathinaikos continue to lead the way in Greece after edging out AEK Athens 3-2. Olympiakos remain on their heels following a 3-2 win over Aris Salonika. Trabzonspor have closed the gap on Turkish leaders Fenerbahce to just two points after seeing off Kayserispor on Sunday.
