Maicon intends to honour his contract with Inter but has hinted that he would be keen to join Real Madrid.
Inter defender linked with move to Bernabeu
Maicon intends to honour his contract with Inter Milan but has hinted that he would be interested in following Jose Mourinho to Real Madrid.
Mourinho guided Inter to UEFA Champions League glory on Saturday to cap a remarkable campaign that also included a domestic double in Italy.
But he appears set to take charge at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer after admitting the victory over Bayern Munich was probably his last game with Inter.
Speculation has also suggested that Maicon could leave during the transfer window and that Mourinho could try to take him to Real.
While the Brazilian is not planning to request a move, he could be open to joining the Spanish giants if a deal can be agreed that suits both clubs.
Respect
"To leave Inter?," Maicon said. "I have a contract and I want to respect it.
"If he (Mourinho) wants me at Real, then we would have to see if (Inter president Massimo) Moratti agrees."
For now, the 28-year-old defender is savouring Inter's success following a fantastic season.
"We have made history," he said. "This is a great thing for us, it's wonderful.
"Many congratulations and thanks to Mourinho who's a great man and coach."
