New Inter Milan signing Yuto Nagatomo is determined to prove he belongs at the reigning Serie A champions.
The Japan left-back agreed to a six-month loan deal from Cesena on Monday, with promising youngster Davide Santon also moving on loan in the other direction.
Nagatomo is thrilled to have joined such a massive club and hopes to repay Inter's faith in him.
"I'm very happy to have joined Inter, the world champions. Now I have to prove to everyone that I can play," he told Inter's
official website.
Pride
"What's happened came out of the blue, but now that I'm here I have to give it everything I've got."
The move has sent Japanese football fans into a frenzy, with the club's website and Facebook page experiencing a huge increase in traffic during the past couple of days.
The 24 year-old is not bothered by the sudden thrust into the limelight and is only focused on making an impact at his new club.
He added: "That fills me with great pride. I really want to succeed wearing the Nerazzurri colours."
