Brazilian defender Juan Jesus has moved to AS Roma on loan from Serie A rivals Inter Milan.

Jesus, 25, was a bit-part player under Inter boss Roberto Mancini last season, making just 19 league appearances as the Nerazzurri finished fourth, some 13 points off a Champions League spot.

Local media are reporting that Jesus' move is an initial loan deal with the option of making it permanent.

Roma confirmed Jesus was on his way, posting this on their website: "On Wednesday afternoon defender Juan Jesus left Inter's pre-season base in Riscone di Brunico and arrived at Roma's training camp in Pinzolo."

And the player himself said his goodbyes to the Inter fans in a video posted on his Facebook account.

He also took to Twitter where he said: "One big and huge thank you. Goodbye Inter!"

Jesus has four caps for Brazil, all in friendlies, but has not represented his country since 2013. He also helped the side to a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

Jesus could replace Kostas Manolas in the Roma team; the Greek international is reportedly a transfer target for a number of top European clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea, and recently rejected a new contract.
