Cafu agrees Milan move
The Samba World Cup winner has reached the end of his contract with Serie A rivals Roma but was due to move to Japan with Yokohama Marinos.
After signing a pre-contract agreement with Yokohama, Cafu then changed his mind and refused to go to the Far East for a number of reasons, including the outbreak of the Sars virus.
Milan were then alerted to his availability and, after the disappointed Japanese side gave up hope of signing him, the European champions made their move.
The club have now announced that the 33-year-old has signed a two-year deal and has already completed his medical in San Siro.
The swoop is something of a coup for Carlo Ancelotti as Cafu continues to be one of the best attacking defenders in the world despite his age, and was in prime form when he lifted the World Cup with Brazil last summer.
