Striker closes in on Italy move
Brazil international Adriano landed in Italy on Monday as he looks to complete his signing with Roma.
The 28-year-old striker terminated his contract with Inter Milan in April 2009 due to personal problems and injuries.
He returned home to Brazil and spent last season with Flamengo, but is now a free agent and is expected to pen a three-year contract with Roma on Tuesday.
The striker is looking forward to a second stint in Italy and forming an attacking partnership with captain Francesco Totti.
Happy
"I'm really very happy," said Adriano. "I have to work so much and have great training sessions and I hope everything will go well.
"I have a great desire to play together with Totti and to show good things in Italy."
Inter stood by Adriano during his difficult last year at the club and allowed him to return home, where he has established himself as a prolific goalscorer with Flamengo.
The striker is likely to make his official Roma debut against his former club in the Supercoppa in August, and is greatly anticipating the clash.
"It will be a pleasure to play against Inter in the Supercoppa, I have so much respect for this club and for the president (Massimo) Moratti," he added.
It is understood Adriano's deal with Roma will carry a clause which will allow the capital club to terminate his deal immediately should any serious disciplinary breaches or unprofessional behaviour occur.
