Roma plan to step up contract talks with Daniele De Rossi now the transfer window has closed.
De Rossi's future at the Stadio Olimpico has been the subject of speculation all summer with Manchester City and Chelsea both credited with an interest in the Italian international.
The midfielder's current contract expires at the end of the season and he could leave on a free transfer.
Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini is ready to start negotiations with De Rossi now the transfer deadline has passed.
"Now we will dedicate ourselves to Daniele's contract," said Sabatini. "Our will is to arrive to an agreement."
