Swans told to reach the top flight to have any chance of signing Borini

Swansea have been warned that they will only be able to keep striker Fabio Borini if they manage to reach the Premier League. The Italian youngster has been in superb form for the Swans since his loan move from Chelsea, scoring six goals in seven games to help his club reach at least a play-off place. The 20-year-old is unlikely to stay at Stamford Bridge next season due to a fall-out over a new deal, and Swans boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted he would like to keep the player at the Liberty Stadium next season. A host of Serie A clubs are reportedly keeping tabs on the Italian Under-21 international however, with Lazio, Juventus and Parma all eyeing a summer move for the player. However, Rodgers has more or less been informed by the player's agent that unless Swansea achieve promotion they will not be able to secure a new deal.

Quality

"There are a lot of clubs interested in Fabio and he has the quality to play anywhere in the Premier League, back in Italy or Germany," Borini's agent Marco Antonio De Marchi said in the Western Mail. "He's a top player and one of the best Italian young players in Europe. "He's 20, a striker for the Under-21 national side and doing fantastically well. He will have no problem finding a club. "Parma were talking with Chelsea in January, but could not find an agreement. "Fabio then signed for Swansea and he has done a fantastic job there. "But he is a player who is ready to play in the top level like the Premier League, Serie A or the Bundesliga. "I've no doubts he will have a fantastic career."
