Cafu axed by Brazil

Cafu has been omitted from Brazil's squad for the game with Bolivia.

Milan defender Cafu is in danger of seeing his dream of playing at the 2006 World Cup go up in smoke after being omitted from Brazil's squad for their clash with Bolivia next month.

Cafu and his Milan team-mates Kaka and Dida have been left out by coach Carlos Alberto Parreira after they did not take up an invitation to play in Wednesday's friendly with Haiti.

Parreira is smarting at their failure to attend the friendly with Haiti and made his feelings known when revealing his squad for the World Cup qualifier with Bolivia.

"If they don't accept the invitation to play in the friendly with Haiti then I think that maybe they are not interested in playing the qualifiers," said a clearly agitated Parreira.

Milan were insistent that their three players did not travel, but it would appear as if Parreira is blaming the trio.

Cafu is Brazil's captain and the defender has made no secret of his desire to lead his country in Germany but he will have prove his commitment to Parreira before being included again.
