Barcelona have threatened to cut off relations with striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent.
Spanish giants angry over agent's comments
Barcelona have threatened to cut off relations with Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent amid continuing speculation over the striker's future.
Agent Mino Raiola, who has done nothing to play down a possible Camp Nou exit for Ibrahimovic after just one season with the Spanish champions, claimed coach Pep Guardiola had become an 'enemy' of his client, suggesting the Swede was being forced out of the Catalan club.
But Barca have stamped on the agent's claims, and said in a statement on their website that the club's lawyers are now looking to void the contract they have with Raiola's company.
"The executive committee of the FC Barcelona board of directors would like to publicly denounce the conduct over the last few days of the agent of our player Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Sr Mino Raiola, whose declarations have put into question the honour and moral integrity of our coach Josep Guardiola," said the statement.
"These declarations have affected the relationship between the coach and the player and as a result the willingness of the player to fulfil his obligations. As such the declarations are a flagrant breach of the contract which Sr Raiola's company have with the club for representation and management.
"Our legal department is therefore considering the possibility of rescinding this contract and the cessation of the annual payment Sr Raiola's company receives from the club as part of this agreement."
Negotiations
Barca have been negotiating with AC Milan over a potential transfer for the sought-after striker.
Raiola said on Friday that the deal is not yet set in stone, but that talks are still ongoing.
"The baby is still not born but we are in the eighth month," Raiola joked.
"There still isn't an agreement with Milan. There are many things to clear up between the clubs and the player."
The latest news from
Sky Italia is that a meeting will take place on Saturday afternoon between Milan, Barcelona and Ibrahimovic's agent to discuss the player's proposed move to the San Siro.
Ibrahimovic is reportedly set for a season-long loan deal at Milan, with the option for the Italian giants to sign him permanently next summer.
