Flamini the hero for Milan, Samp boost survival hopes

AC Milan moved to within a point of the Serie A title after a 1-0 win over Bologna. Former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini scored the only goal of the game after just eight minutes to move Milan a step closer to their 19th scudetto. Milan can seal their first title since 2004 with a draw at Roma next weekend. Nine-man Roma moved up to fifth after a five-goal thriller against already-relegated Bari, with substitute Aleandro Rosi winning it for the visitors in the fifth-minute of stoppage time. At the bottom of the table, Sampdoria moved a point clear of the drop zone after a thrilling 3-3 draw with second-bottom Brescia. Sampdoria came from behind on three occasions with Daniele Mannini's last-gasp goal earning them a draw. Lecce remain in the bottom three after going down 1-0 at Chievo thanks to Luca Rigoni's goal just before the hour mark. Udinese missed the chance to close the gap on fourth-placed Lazio after being thumped 5-2 at Fiorentina. Gaetano D'Agostino and Alessio Cerci both helped themselves to a brace each for Fiorentina with Juan Manuel Vargas grabbing the other for the rampant home side. Parma moved further clear of trouble at the wrong end of the table with a 3-1 win over Palermo at the Ennio Tardini. Goals from Blerim Dzemaili, Francesco Modesto and Antonio Candreva were enough to give Parma the points with Javier Pastore netting a consolation for Palermo. Catania boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 victory over Cagliari with late goals from Matias Silvestre (78) and Gonzalo Bergessio (82) sealing the three points.
