Striker hoping for Champions League qualification
Highly-rated striker Edinson Cavani has insisted that he would like to sign a new deal with Palermo.
The Uruguay international has reportedly caught the eye of several top European clubs since moving to Palermo in 2007.
He has previously been linked with Chelsea and Juventus and admitted it is flattering to attract such attention.
However, the 23-year-old has now declared that he is happy at Palermo and could be prepared to commit his future to the club.
Cavani admits his decision might be swayed by whether Palermo can secure fourth place in Serie A and UEFA Champions League qualification.
Within reach
The Rosanero are currently in pole position to claim the coveted position but there are still several teams in contention and six games of the season remaining.
"There are many factors that lead me to stay here," he told reporters when asked whether he would extend his contract.
"I have been with Palermo for three years and I feel at home and I love this jersey.
"The Champions League is an objective within our reach and I'd love to play this competition with Palermo.
"If we do it I would even be willing to refuse a call from a top club."
