Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu could be set for a move to Fenerbahce, according to his agent.
Mutu set for Viola exit
Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu has been linked with a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
Mutu was handed a lengthy ban by the Italian anti-doping Tribunal (TNA) for his double doping test failure in January for the Viola. The striker is currently suspended from participating in official games until October 2010.
His agent, Giovani Becali says the former Chelsea striker could be set for a move to the Yellow Canaries following talks with Fiorentina officials to end Mutu's contract with immediate effect.
Becali told
Gsp Tv: "I talked with leaders of Fiorentina and we concluded that this coexistence is finished. Mutu will play in a European club and Fenerbahce would be a possibility."
The Romanian striker has had a checkered history. In 2005, the 31-year-old failed a drugs test for cocaine and was sacked from Chelsea after receiving a seven-month ban from the FA.
He scored an impressive 50 goals in 91 appearances for Fiorentina during his time at the Artemio Franchi.
