Teenage striker not ready to take on English challenge just yet

Khouma Babacar is pleased to be linked with a Premier League move, but claims to be happy at Fiorentina.

The teenage sensation is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in European football, having broken into the Viola first-team at just 16 years of age.

He is still learning his trade, but the promise he has shown during the early stages of his career suggests he is a potential star of the future.

His rapid progress has not gone unnoticed either, with a host of top clubs having been drawn to his considerable ability.

The Senegal U21 international continues to take everything in his stride, but admits to having had his head turned by reports of interest in his services from England.

He would welcome the opportunity to test himself in the Premier League at some stage in the future, but believes his development would be better served in Italy for now.

Powerful

"I am flattered," the 17-year-old striker told skysports.com.

"I have heard that Premier League teams are watching me, but I need to learn my trade at Fiorentina, as they are also a big team.

"Because I am strong and powerful, maybe that is why I am being linked with the Premier League.

"I dream about playing there in the future, but not now. I am not ready.

"Before I move on I want to win as many trophies as possible with the Viola."

Reports suggest Arsenal, Everton and Sunderland have all had Babacar watched since he made his Fiorentina debut 12 months ago.
