Vieira in Real admission

Benfica president Felipe Vieira admits he fears losing manager Jose Antonio Camacho to Real Madrid.

Reports emanating from Spain have suggested that Camacho is favourite to succeed Carlos Queiroz this summer if, as expected, the Portuguese coach is shown the door after a trophyless season for Real.

Vieira feels that Camacho, whose contract with Benfica expires in the summer, will not walk out on the Lisbon giants - unless his former club come calling.

Speaking to A Bola, the Benfica supremo stated: "Camacho is a Benfica man and I can only see him swapping Benfica for Real Madrid.

"He has got a unique relationship with our fans, but the team of his heart is called Real Madrid."

Vieira revealed that he planned to sit down with Camacho to decide his future after the Portuguese Cup final on May 16, and insisted he would pull out all the stops to try and make the Spaniard stay at the Estadio da Luz.

"Benfica will do everything they can so that he stays, but everyone knows that the majority of Real Madrid fans want him to return," he continued.

"If this is confirmed, we will know next week."
