Udinese have received a boost after defender Andrea Coda signed a new five-year contract with the Serie A club.

Defender aims to put frustrating season behind him

Udinese have received a boost after defender Andrea Coda signed a new five-year contract with the Serie A club. Coda joined Udinese in 2006 from Empoli and his previous contract was due to expire at the end of the month. However, he has pledged his future to the club and will now bid to make up for a frustrating past season when he was restricted to just seven league appearances due to a knee injury. The 27-year-old's decision to stick with Udinese will help to soften the blow of the imminent departures of Mauricio Isla and Kwadwo Asamoah. Isla and Asamoah both underwent medicals with Juventus last week and are due to finalise moves to the Serie A champions.
