Jorge Martinez's agent has revealed that a number of 'important clubs' are still chasing the Catania striker.

Lazio linked with Catania striker

Jorge Martinez's agent has revealed that a number of 'important clubs' are still chasing the Catania striker, but is in the dark over possible negotiations with Lazio. Catania are resigned to the fact that Martinez will leave this summer after a stunning campaign, although he is valued at around 15million euros (£12.4million). Manchester City and Chelsea are among those to have been linked with the Uruguayan, who was surprisingly left out of Oscar Tabarez's 23-man squad for the World Cup. Lazio were thought to be leading the chase but Martinez's representative Daniel Delgado has refused to confirm whether an offer has been made. "There could be some new developments next week but for now I know absolutely nothing," Delgado told Lalaziosiamonoi. "I don't know anything about negotiations between Lazio and Catania and for such information only the club's sporting directors could shed any light on the matter. "The only thing I can announce is that Jorge is being tracked by a number of important sides at present. "I have said in the past that the Biancocelesti are interested in my player but I cannot confirm that any offers have been forwarded to me with regards to his services next season."
