Bayern Munich opened up a 10-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga on Saturday, with their 4-0 victory over Cologne at the Allianz Arena representing a 10th straight league win from the start of the season, and their 1,000th all-time win in the division.
Arjen Robben, making his return after almost two months out injured, opened the scoring in a convincing success for Pep Guardiola's men.
Arturo Vidal, Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller - the latter from the penalty spot - completed the rout as Bayern underlined their superiority in German football.
Elsewhere, Bayer Leverkusen came from behind to record a thrilling last-gasp 4-3 victory at home to Stuttgart.
After a goalless first half, Stuttgart struck two goals four minutes apart through Martin Harnik and Daniel Didavi before Karim Bellarabi pulled one back for the home side in the 58th minute.
Lukas Rupp restored Stuttgart's two-goal lead just two minutes later, but Leverkusen then responded with a quick double of their own with just under 20 minutes to go through Sebastian Bosnich and Javier Hernandez.
The game seemed to be heading for a draw, but Admir Mehmedi netted in the 89th minute as Stuttgart's struggles this season continued.
Wolfsburg nicked a late 1-0 win at Darmstadt thanks to Daniel Caligiuri's 78th-minute effort, and Eintracht Frankfurt also recorded an away win, 2-1 at Hannover.
Hannover took the lead in the 51st minute through Felix Klaus, but Frankfurt fought their way back to triumph thanks to a Marc Stendera double.
Anthony Ujah also bagged a double as Werder Bremen ran out 3-1 winners at Mainz.
The Nigerian forward scored twice and Fin Bartels added a third before the break, while Yoshinori Muto grabbed a late consolation for the home side
And in the late kick-off, Hertha Berlin rose to fifth in the table with a 1-0 win at Ingolstadt thanks to Mitchel Weiser's 11th-minute strike.
