Schalke midfielder Mimoun Azaouagh has joined local rivals Bochum on a six-month loan deal.
The former Germany Under 21 star has seen his career in Gelsenkirchen hit by a series of injury problems and now hopes to prove his worth at the rewirpowerStadion in the second half of the season.
"Mimoun Azaouagh is a versatile, technically gifted player, who will be of great value to our attacking game," Bochum executive Stefan Kuntz told the club's official website.
The player also expressed his delight at the move, claiming that Bochum boss Marcel Koller was instrumental in his decision to join VfL.
Azaouagh commented: "We had an excellent person-to-person chat in which I felt his trust in my ability."
